Claire first made this serum for her own sensitive skin, blending the rose composition now called Divine into organic evening primrose, rosehip and arnica. She chose rose for its deeply hydrating, soothing and antioxidant-rich qualities, and rosehip seed oil for its vitamins and fatty acids. She hadn’t planned to sell it, but people began asking about her skin and the scent.

After toner, apply a small amount with clean hands to face, neck and décolletage. Massage into skin in a circular motion.

Full ingredients

Organic evening primrose, organic rosehip seed, organic arnica, pure essential oils of wild rose, rose absolute, Moroccan rose and Bulgarian rose otto.

Storage and shelf life

No preservatives. Recommended shelf life: one year. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The dark glass helps protect the essential oils from light. Once empty, reuse or recycle the bottle.

Sourcing notes

Rosehip is a carrier oil made from the seeds inside the fruit of wild rose bushes; Claire describes it as a stunning sunset-golden oil filled with vitamins and fatty acids. Carrier oils come in grades, and Claire buys the highest quality she can source. She buys through small wholesalers she works with personally and looks for distributors who test what they sell and can account for where it comes from.

Claire commissioned the bag from Julie Neufeld, a Tofino-based leatherworker. Julie adapted it from a larger bag she originally made for Claire. They share a love of intentional simplicity and of perfecting their craft. Its flat base lets it sit open as a cosmetic bag; later, it can hold your phone or wallet. Only with the Complete Collection.

The Divine blend in three forms: a water-based mist toner, an oil serum and a whipped balm each made by hand upon ordering.

Payment is taken when you order. Your skincare is then made by hand in Tofino. Please allow up to four weeks before it ships.

Questions

Does Divine contain synthetic fragrance?

No synthetic fragrance is used. All products are made using pure essential oils and natural ingredients. Made without fillers or preservatives.

Is the Divine Collection vegan, and is it tested on animals?

The skincare is vegan and not tested on animals. Claire is the first person to test the formulas on her own sensitive skin.

What is the recommended shelf life?

One year. This is because they are made without preservatives or fillers. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Why doesn't the balm use binding agents or preservatives?

Claire wanted the balm to hold together without adding ingredients simply to stabilize the formula. She emulsifies the oils, freezes and whips them, then repeats the process. That gives the balm its structure and texture while keeping the formula free of binding agents and preservatives.

Why the dark glass?

Dark glass helps protect the essential oils from light. When the product is finished, the glass can be reused or recycled.

Will every batch be exactly the same?

Each order is hand made just for you. Natural materials can shift slightly with growing conditions, harvest and place. Claire expects that variation from the materials; the quality standard she accepts remains the same.
